A tooth was broken out and needed replacement. I cut a dovetail in the wheel where the tooth was missing and fit a brass piece into the wheel and then cut the new tooth on the plug.

It was soldered in place by sweating a small about of solf solder into the joint as an aid to the mechanical fixture. This repair  saves having to remake the wheel, while still providing a strong repair.

Work like this takes time, but I do love the more traditional skills and this is a good place to practice them.
